Aberdeen’s Cold Years drop the incisive new single Breathe, set for release from their forthcoming debut album. With their influences deeply rooted in blues, rock 'n' roll, punk and Americana, Cold Years began in 2014 when Ross Gordon (vocals/guitar) convinced Finlay Urquhart (guitar/vocals) and Fraser Allan (drums) to join a band with him on one drunken night out in Aberdeen by telling each of them the other had already agreed to join! After a couple of self-released EP’s, Louis Craighead (bass / vocals) joined 2017, which is the moment that Cold Years view as the beginning of the band. The first release with the new line up was Northern Blue in 2018, which garnered features in Kerrang, Rock Sound & Louder alongside spins from Daniel P Carter (Radio 1) & Alex Baker (Kerrang Radio) and tours of in both the UK and Germany.
This year has already been a notable one for the quartet, who featured in Kerrang’s Hottest Bands of 2019 alongside Fever 333 & Yonaka, plus they supported punk rock stalwart Dave Hause on his UK tour. Cold Years also kicked off festival season at Teddy Rocks and This Is Tomorrow, with more festival appearances forthcoming at 2000trees and King Tut’s Summer Nights...
