5 HILLS OUT - Ask 6

HOW DID YOUR NAME ORIGINATE?

We are from a small Derbyshire town called Ashbourne, there are 5 Hills Out of the town so that was it, we are a 5 piece band as well but we started out with 3 of us, we had to be patient to complete the line up!

-

WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST GIG AND HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE?

Our 1st gig was upstairs at Ye Olde Talbot in Uttoxeter. There was about 20 people there.

-

WHEN WAS YOUR LAST DAY OFF AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT?

Last weekend, I finally managed to stay at home and sort out my house, I also did a water change for my tropical fish.

-

WHAT IS SOMETHING APART FROM YOUR WALLET OR PHONE THAT HAS TO BE IN YOUR VICINITY AT ALL TIMES?

A plectrum, you always need one handy. I convinced a guy in Dublin who was playing at a bar to let me play a song, pulled out the plectrum as proof of being a musician :)

-

WHICH SONG BY ANOTHER ARTIST DO YOU WISH YOU HAD WRITTEN?

Liberty by The Levellers, it’s such a great uplifting song and written at such a terrible time under Thatchers awful government.

-

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST SURREAL FAN MOMENT?

Probably playing at my Son and Daughters school, and watching her sing along word for word of our new single Cogs.
