Allusinlove - Interview from Download 2019

Ahead of a summer of festivals and support shows for Skunk Anansie and Muse, cult Leeds band allusinlove released their explosive debut studio album, ‘It’s OK To Talk’, out now via Good Soldier. New single ‘Sunset Yellow’ is a classic track from the band’s early days and now the focal point of their riotous live shows; “Sunset Yellow is a song about being cheeky and seeing things before they happen. It’s the first song we wrote as a band and has been a fan favourite from day one” says singer Jason; “Recently on tour with grandson we’ve been getting the lights turned down low when we play it and having everyone get their phones and lighters out”. Having played together as a band for almost 6 years, allusinlove returned last year following a self-imposed hiatus with their irresistible call to (each other’s) arms ‘All Good People’ and the ‘allusinlove EP’. As a long established, infamous and prolific live act, allusinlove have spent much of 2019 on the road between headline shows and support tours for The Amazons and breakthrough US act Grandson. Their ambitious, expansive debut studio album ‘It’s OK To Talk’ was produced by Catherine Marks (2018’s UK Producer Of The Year; St Vincent, Wolf Alice, PJ Harvey) and while capturing the intensity and fun of the live show, also explores issues around mental health that affect so many musicians and young men in 2019.

“It really is okay to be upset, anxious, hopeless, excited, happy and it’s even more okay to talk about it.” - allusinlove All hail ALLUSINLOVE! allusinlove play the following shows and festivals:
