HIGHER GROUND - Ask 6

HOW DID YOUR NAME ORIGINATE?

From a personal joke between the original members! It was sort of a phoney ego trip where all of us would imply that we were the better musician.

-

WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST GIG AND HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE?

Our first gig was actually a day long festival at our singer’s ex boyfriend’s venue. We actually ended up with the second/third biggest crowd of the day, which we were super psyched about. It’s amazing to have such supportive people around you!

-

WHEN WAS YOUR LAST DAY OFF AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT?

C – Yesterday I suppose! I had a date.

E – A few days ago! I recorded some music at home.

J – A week or so ago, I moved into a new flat.

H – Two weeks ago, I wrote some Higher Ground guitar parts.

D – Went to facedown to see our friends jack the envious! It was last Friday!

-

WHAT IS SOMETHING - APART FROM YOUR PHONE OR WALLET - THAT HAS TO BE IN YOUR VICINITY AT ALL TIMES AND WHY?

C – Some kind of lip balm, I’m a little bit addicted to it and as well as being useful for dry lips, it also momentarily gets you out out of an awkward situation haha.

E – Rennie’s… I’m always getting heartburn.

J – A pair of earphones or headphones. I’ve always got to be listening to something!

H – Plectrums… because you never know when!

D – My portable charger! I’m always on my phone, and always on the go!

-

WHICH SONG BY ANOTHER ARTIST DO YOU WISH YOU'D WRITTEN?

C – I never told you what I do for a living by My Chemical Romance. It’s my favourite song by my favourite band, I’m a fan girl.

E – The working hour by Tears for Fears.

J – Hospital Blues you left me with by The Gospel youth, beautiful song.

H – Rock n Roll Suicide by David Bowie.

D – The melting point of wax by Thrice.

-

WHAT'S BEEN THE MOST SURREAL FAN MOMENT?

We all love it when the crowd sings the hook to stupid thoughts. It’s usually been the last song in our set so we also sometimes hear people singing it to themselves in the breaks between sets!

Super cool.
