HOW DID YOUR NAME ORIGINATE?
RATTS is simply the plural of half of my surname (Barratt). It started as a solo project around a year ago but has now developed into a band. Kinda liked the name, so we’ve stuck with it.

WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST GIG AND HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE?
Our first full-band gig was only a couple of weeks ago at Nambucca, Holloway Road. We had around 30 people to see us, so we did OK.
-
WHEN WAS YOUR LAST DAY OFF AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT?
I work full-time, so my last day off was the day of our previously mentioned first gig. I spent driving around the place, sitting in traffic. Well good.

WHAT IS SOMETHING APART FROM YOUR WALLET OR PHONE THAT HAS TO BE IN YOUR VICINITY AT ALL TIMES?
That’s a tricky one, but I always seem to have guitar picks in the weird little pocket on the right-hand-side of jeans. They always come in handy. Probably wouldn’t die without them, mind.
-
WHICH SONG BY ANOTHER ARTIST DO YOU WISH YOU HAD WRITTEN?
Caught By The Fuzz by Supergrass.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST SURREAL FAN MOMENT?
Unfortunately, being such a new band, we haven’t been subjected to any surreal encounters with fans. This is down to the fact that we don’t currently have any fans. The Wealdstone Raider would have a field day with us.
