WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST GIG AND HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE?
My very first gig was at a wedding, so probably 200 people that weren’t paying attention. My first club gig was in NYC when I was 18. I don’t remember the very first one because I was playing in several clubs a night. My first gig on an actual stage was when I was 19 and I sat in with the Allman Brothers at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

WHEN WAS YOUR LAST DAY OFF AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT?
I participated in a 5 week meditation retreat last September and basically went off grid. It was nice to look inward and spend more time in a monastery. The video I just released for my song “Killing Me” was shot in a small room, inspired by my time spent at several monastery’s over the years. It explores themes that the world is experiencing in magnitude right now, such as isolation, self-inquiry and facing your shadow.

WHAT IS SOMETHING - APART FROM YOUR PHONE OR WALLET - THAT HAS TO BE IN YOUR VICINITY AT ALL TIMES?
You mean aside from my mask, gloves, and anti-bacterial wipes? Definitely not toilet paper! Haha. I’d say my “adult safety blankets” are my BPA free water canister so I can take mini sips of water throughout the day, and a stack of napkins while I eat.

WHAT'S BEEN THE MOST SURREAL FAN MOMENT?
Sitting with Leonard Cohen on his living room floor waiting for an earthquake to subside, right after I sung him my song “One Thing After Another” on my acoustic guitar.
