The Winachi Tribe - Ask 6

HOW DID YOUR NAME ORIGINATE?

'The Winachi' is an anagram of 'China White' which was the name of our previous band. We changed the name due to copyright issues and the fact it's slang for Heroin in America...it wasn't a good luck and considering we've been back and too to the states over the last few years it was definetely a good move!!! The 'Tribe' means 'one', we move as 'One'...'One Family'...'One Tribe'

WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST GIG AND HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE?

Our first gig was at 'The Phoenix' club in London 2015 supporting Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey. We went onstage as China White and come off as The Winachi Tribe. There was about 60 people there that night. It was the start a life changing adventure as The Winachi Tribe.

-

WHEN WAS YOUR LAST DAY OFF AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH IT?

I never really have a day off so to speak...I'm always on it if you know what I mean. If I have a day off it's usually spent trying to stay out of trouble, I listen to music, walk my dogs, wrestle with the chickens.

-

WHAT IS SOMETHING APART FROM YOUR WALLET OR PHONE THAT HAS TO BE IN YOUR VICINITY AT ALL TIMES?

My pants, I've been cut short a few times and it never ends well,

-

WHICH SONG BY ANOTHER ARTIST DO YOU WISH YOU HAD WRITTEN?

'The Message' by Melle Mel and Duke Bootee, greatest HipHop track of all time.

-

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST SURREAL FAN MOMENT?

There was a girl who stalked me for a few years, once walking home with my Mrs and a few mates in the early hours after a club she was waiting behind a bus stop near my house and jumped out as we walked past it...that was pretty creepy. She still occasionally send me mad stuff on social media...god bless her Xx
